Morning Habits for Health and Wellness
Many agree breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Breakfast can give you power, energy, and healthy fats to last throughout the day. But there is more to just breakfast as a healthy start to your day. Healthy people have healthy habits, and they start from the moment they wake up with a basic routine. Here are 7 healthy habits that you can do every morning and that will improve your overall health, mood and provide a positive start to your day!

Drink a glass of celery juice upon waking.

As soon as you wake up, drink a glass of celery juice! If you want to heal and improve your health quickly and efficiently, follow this routine:

  • Every morning, drink 16 ounces or more of celery juice on an empty stomach. Make sure it’s fresh, plain celery juice with no other ingredients. Celery juice is a medicinal, not a caloric drink, so you’ll still need breakfast afterward to power you through the morning. Simply wait at least 15 to 30 minutes after drinking your celery juice before consuming anything else.
  • If you’re sensitive and 16 ounces is too much, start with a smaller amount and work your way up.
  • Use organic celery whenever possible. If you’re using conventional celery, be sure to wash it especially well before juicing.

Avoid your smartphone for at least an hour

We know the dynamic world we live in requires us to be constantly available for communication, and that includes checking email and texts on our smartphones. But try to resist the habit of grabbing your phone as soon as you wake up. Try to ignore your phone and emails for at least an hour after you wake up. As a result, your mind will be more focused and clear, and you will be happier.

Take a Breath of Fresh Air

Fresh air is essential to a healthy body. After you drink your celery juice, step outside (on your balcony or in front of your door), and take a few slow deep breaths of fresh air. No matter if it is cold or not, it won't take long. You may even find yourself pausing in the air and breathing to start your day. Remind yourself you are alive and breathing, happy and well.

Say Thank You

Fill your mind with a positive attitude. So, after you wake up, take a moment to think of one little thing you are thankful for and you have gratitude for. Say thank you, either to yourself or shout it out! If you can think of more than one thing, even better.

Exercise

Now, let’s get something out in the open... you do not need one hour of hard workout to reap the benefits of exercise! Experts agree 20 minutes daily of stretching and moving your body will do the trick. Doing a few exercises early in the morning before you have breakfast is a great way to kick-start your body and metabolism, as well as get your blood flowing. Exercising also shakes up your waking-up mode and fills you with energy. If you are not much into exercising, you can always play your favorite song and dance.

Prepare a healthy breakfast

Eating a healthy breakfast will provide you with enough energy to go through the day. But what many people forget to mention is “what you eat”. If your breakfast consists of unhealthy food, it will do more harm than good. Some ideas for a healthy breakfast include smoothies, eggs, fresh berries, and vegetables, which aren't just for lunch and dinner! All the aforementioned are easy and quick to prepare. You can even prep your produce for smoothies the night before, and leave them in the fridge ready to go first thing in the morning!

Time for affirmations

Building confidence is a habit that requires a daily dose of positive injection. Before you walk out of your home in the morning, whisper positive affirmations to yourself. If you don't know where to begin, start very general, and then become more specific as you get used to the idea. Some starting points could be: “I feel amazing”, “I radiate confidence”, “Every cell in my body is (or is getting) healthy”, "I am grateful".
