Many of you said that you are not a smoothie fans. The major problem in the smoothie recipes are the calories. This one is different.
It has only 115-130 calories, and your hunger will be satisfied for a longer period. The secret here is the fact that it is rich in proteins, but also the coffee flavor is doing its magic.
The only thing here is that it is not sweet. But, there is a solution for that. Make sure to check the “pro” tips below the recipe.
Let’s look at the ingredients now.
2 Cups of Ice
3/4 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
1 Cup Cold Brewed Coffee (unsweetened)
1 Chopped Frozen Banana
1 Scoop of Protein Powder (Chocolate or Vanilla)
HOW TO MAKE IT:
Easy. Put everything in a blender.
Blend until smooth and add the ice until you get the wanted consistency. If you want it to be a little bit richer, add some greek yogurt.
± 2 (It is great if you want to share it with your love in the morning 🙂 You’ll get ~ 115 calories each.)
- You can eat it as a puree if you like. Do it with an unfrozen banana and add ice. This will lower the servings.
- Experiment. After you tried like it is, feel free to add something that you enjoy like unsweetened cocoa powder, flax meal, oatmeal, chia, etc.
- Use the protein powder you like. If it is too much for you, use a ½ scoop.
- Bananas are high in carbs. (You know that) That is why to be cautious on how many bananas you use. We use the banana to adjust the sweetness. Using frozen banana makes it like a shake since the frozen bananas are creamier.
As we mentioned, this shake has around 115 – 130 calories per serving. That is why for better consistency, add a little plain Greek yogurt to the recipe and treat it as a meal replacement. It is good, just try it!
